What is Participatory Budgeting?
Participatory Budgeting is a process where community members directly decide how to use a portion of a public budget. This process was first developed in Brazil in 1989 and is now in use all over the globe. In our case, residents of each of the 5 wards in Eureka will come together to determine how to use a portion of the $75,000 budget to benefit the community.
Participants are vital to the process of participatory budgeting. Participants attend the community meetings organized by the delegates, bring ideas to the group, and decide on the project or projects that are funded with their ward's budget.
Eligible Projects
Projects that will be eligible for funding are projects that serve the public, are one-time expenses, can be implemented within city limits, and are within the budget limits.

En nuestro caso, los residentes de cada uno de los 5 distritos de Eureka se reunirán para determinar cómo utilizar una parte del presupuesto de $75,000 para beneficiar a la comunidad.
